Kinomap

With over 40,000 videos from the best tracks around the world, Kinomap brings real-world interactive training to indoor cycling, running, rowing and even skiing machines. Perfect for any fitness goal, the app adjusts the resistance of the equipment to match the incline of the terrain… making indoor training sessions feel incredibly real.Kinomap offers many additional features to encourage users to train on a regular basis: a wide array of routes and training types, a multiplayer and a live mode to compete with other users, sharing with the community, and the ability to broadcast on a large screen.

Kinomap's team reached out to us for a complete overhaul of the app. Our goal was to:
→ create a clearer user journey which had become cluttered as features were gradually added to the app
→ increase user retention by bringing focus to specific features
→ accomodate a strategic move towards a fremium model
→ engage users right from the start with a new onboarding flow
→ bring a bit of humph the overall user experience

Our approach began with in-depth user interviews and collaborative workshops with Kinomap's leadership and product team. This allowed us to gain profound insights into project priorities and pain points, while gathering valuable input from users who were longing for personal challenges, a clearer way to navigate training modes and videos, and a stronger sense of community.We undertook a redesign of the onboarding and equipment syncing flows, completely reimagined the navigation, refined the presentation of training videos, created distinc categories for trainings and established dedicated sections for in-app challenges. To add an extra layer of engagement, we incorporated gamification features and reinforced a sense of emulation among users, all while emphasizing Kinomap’s key differentiators and creating clear UI guidelines.
